We had a fantastic time working with the SPCA this year putting together Dog Day's 2011.

For the next couple of weeks we'll be posting some of the great dogs we were able to photograph.

This is such a fun event....we use the pink background and have loads of hats and dress up things to borrow....very girly.....but good for mothers & daughters of all ages.

This year our charity of choice is "The Learning Together Program"

For those of you not familiar, its a local run program held at Suterland High School in North vancouver. Teen mothers are given the chance to complete their high school education, by being offered daycare and much support while they are attending.

Let's help them have a great Mother's day by bringing a donation of some small gift to brighten their day!

Ronald McDonald House Charity Ski Race

For those of you that don't know....I have been a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Charity Ski Race (held at Whistler) for 14 years. This year was very special as we raised $225,000 for the House. Thanks to all that attended and what a great fun event for a great cause! Hope to see you there next year.

Back from Africa

Hi everyone, you may or may not know I have been away for the past 3 months travelling in Africa! My husband and I visited 8 countries...from" Kenya to CapeTown" was the name of the tour.
We started off by hiking up Mt. Kilimanjaro and then continued through the rest of Tanzania, out to the island of Zanzibar, then down through Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe (day trip only), Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and ended in Rwanda. Too many highlights to mention, but cage diving with great White Sharks and hiking to be with the gorillas were two of the best!
We travelled by truck and slept in tents mostly, so we really got to meet the people and see the countryside up close and personal.
Everywhere we went the people were lovely and the kids....so cute! Loved having their photo taken. I will try and upload a few of the 8000 images I took, but if you are curious and want to read my blog and see some images we put up while on the road.....go to the following site:

Dog Days fundraiser

Our annual SPCA fundraiser was held on Sept 18 & 19 this year. To say it was a hit....with over 30 people attending with not just one dog, but multiple puppies and one lovely cat.

Thank you to everyone who brought all sorts of goodies for the West Van branch of the BC SPCA. I have included a pic of the pile and some sample shots again for you to enjoy!

Hi gang, latest update for Don Golob's portrait ....... it was one of only a few chosen to be hung in the Ottawa show in June, from the 1-14. Go see www.photosensitive.com This is a traveling show put on in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, which is visting all major cities arcross Canada this year. Each BW print is 16x20 and has the subjects story beside it. An amazing collection of portraits and storys of people dealing with cancer.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Hi gang, just got back from the annual charity ski race at Whistler, BC for Ronald McDonald House Charities! My husband and I have been volunteers at the race for over 13 years! What a great event and we raised 100,000.00 so also very successful. Did you know that 100% of every dollar raised for this charity goes directly to use? That's amazing and great to know. All admin costs are covered by McDonald's Restaurants (who are amazing corporate citizens)
How wonderful to know that you are helping families who are in real need with very sick children to care for. The house provides a place for the entire family to be together while their child is in treatment.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this event.....you do it for the kids!

What a blast! The Olympics sure met my expectations and then some! So exciting to watch and such heartfelt moments, its truly hard to describe! We enjoyed quite a few events and tried to get out and walk around the city in between to just feel the vibe! Did anyone see us right behind Charles H. when he got the gold? We got a few calls that we were on tv waving our flags and screaming our lungs out.
I started the whole thing on Friday, Feb 12 as I was hired by McDonald's Restaurants to photograph the torch relay as it passed by on Davie St. Here are some images from that event. Enjoy! Tamara

Wow! What a year!
Welcome to our new blog. We are excited to add to the Studio2 experience and hope you will check back monthly to see what we've been up to!

The highlights for 2009 had to include our fundraiser for the SPCA. We had 49 dogs, 1 cat and a hamster along with their owners visit us over two days! Whew! Fun!
Everyone was so great to work with. Thank you all for participating and hope 2010 is even bigger!
